In 2021, Josie hosted a 17-day Animalympics extravaganza to fill the “sports void” between the real Olympics and Paralympics! Alongside, in-person events with Red Lion Books, Maldon Books, Rumblebees Bookshop & Music Cafe and Barleylands Farm Park, there were a number of online events, which you can watch here.
On one of the hottest days during the June heatwave, Josie was part of A Vintage Day Out, which raised much-needed funds for Helen Rollason Cancer Charity. Luckily Josie was in the shade of a very large tree and kept cool whilst meeting families and creating art together.
Essex Book Festival grows every year. In 2022, the festival was held during June in views across Essex. Josie was part of the Family Fun Day held at Chelmsford Library (if you’ve never been to the library, Josie highly recommends a visit).
A fun day out for pre-schoolers and their adults in Braintree. This festival has been running for a number of years now and Josie was delighted to be part of it in 2022.
A huge honour to be part of the inaugural Herts Book Festival in 2022. It was a very well organised event with so much going on for all ages to enjoy. Check out their future events here.
Josie joined forces with 40 other independent authors in 2021. Working together they attended a few Christmas events including the Festive Gift Fair at the Birmingham NEC.
Chelmsford, Essex suffered a Monster Invasion in October half-term, but fear not, the monsters were there to look for their friend, the Essex Serpent! The fun people at Chelmsford For You organised the week of free activities including a series of workshops from Josie where children created their own Ink Monsters and heard monster stories!
Josie was honoured to be part of the Chiswick Book Festival in September 2021. Animalympics featured with a fun game and poetry recital.
The Maui Waui Festival moved to Norfolk in 2021 and Josie was delighted to be part of the entertainment in the Children’s Area.
For Josie’s 3rd visit to the Essex Book Festival (in August 2021), she brought along an Animalympics craft activity and fun game which included readings from the story.
Lum’s Mum was the star of the show at the Vintage Day Out in June 2021. Story time and craft sessions in the pretty garden were the order of the day.
Josie had a fun day out when she attended the Barnes Children’s Literature Festival in June 2021. Bringing Lum to the festival was a wonderful return to live events in 2021.
Working with local bookshops (Red Lion Books, Rumblebees and Maldon Books) and Barleylands Farm Park, Josie spent 17 days celebrating the Animalympics in August 2021.
